bits + bobs

As promised, today's post features a little collection of new clothes/shoes/accessories I bought last week!

(I've had to make most of my photos black and white as when I uploaded the original photos, they became too dull, and looked pretty bad and turning the bad takes black and white looked more appealing.)

Looking at all the other blogs I follow, I've noticed their photography is absolutely impeccable, and I've realized I need to step up my photo-taking skills! Again, this is not a professional blog, but I think it would be more appropriate if I style my photos better. To figure out how I want to 'style my photos', I'm trying out different creative takes, so the photos in this post are a different style than what I normally do :-) Not quite sure if this is that path I'll take, but let me know in the comments if you liked the photos or not xxx

Now that I'm done rambling, here are the photos of what I got recently!

Featured: Shoes, Charles and Keith // Top and Shorts, Global Work // Necklace, COS // Magazine, BooksActually
First purchase was a simple geometric necklace from COS! They were having a sale, so I got it for 50% off. Huzzah, this has been my first purchase from COS! :-) Celebratory dance for being able to use my own money and get something from such a lovely store (even if it is just a necklace)

If you are interested, you can check out their website here

This isn't mine, but it was super cute so I thought I'd include it in my photos. Across COS was a Kate Spade Saturday, and my mom got this ring - also geometric :-) It's very minimalist and dainty

The rest of the rings are from H&M and various friends, small independent stores, etc.
If anyone was wondering, I have a mini scented pebble-type garden in my room (??), and to make these photos more interesting I thought I'd shoot the jewellery using objects from that garden.

Shoes! Platform sandals aren't everyone's cup of tea, and even then, there are so many different types of platforms to choose from. I think I've mentioned this in a previous post, but I was eyeing platform sandals at Zara, and thought I'd give those a go. However, I have awkwardly large feet and they pinched my toes, so I went for these instead!

Last but not least are the top and shorts I got from Global Work! I don't own much lace, but I liked this one. You can't tell from this photo, but it's a muted mint color :-)

I also got a pair of denim bermudas for more of those casual days, but I couldn't find a way to style my shorts so no photo (sorry ^-^)

That's it for my mini haul type post! Hope you liked it, I'm still in the process of figuring out what kinds of posts I'll have on here

On a little side not, my tripod is missing a vital piece to hold the camera up *oh joy*, so I can't 'model' my outfits until I find a willing volunteer to put up with long photo-taking sessions :-)

And happy first of July! It may not sound like much but I'd like to address the 11 of you that follow my blog, because for just 2 weeks of my blogger existence, I feel like that's a lot so love you lots xx
